Meet Dr. Elyassi
Dr. Ali Elyassi
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Elyassi grew up in Potomac, Maryland, where he received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from University of Maryland Baltimore County and Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, where he graduated "top resident."
He is board certified with the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, as well as the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
At Fort Hood, Texas, Dr. Elyassi was appointed as Assistant Professor and head oral surgery mentor for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. At Walter Reed, he was appointed Assistant Professor and attending to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program. He has devoted his professional career to staying current with all aspects of oral surgery and passing on knowledge to dental students and young oral surgery candidates/residents.
Dr. Elyassi has special interests in dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, preprosthetic surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, TMJ surgery, and trauma. He has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of his field. He has over nine publications in various journals leading to the development of the surgery field and several other publications in process. Besides reading and writing, his hobbies include playing golf, soccer, tennis, skiing, scuba diving, and spending quality time with family.
Meet Dr. Joyce
Dr. Joyce
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Nicholas Joyce was born and raised in Richmond, VA. He attended Hampden-Sydney College located in Farmville, VA where he received a B.S. degree in Biology. During this time in undergraduate studies, Dr. Joyce volunteered extensively for the Missions of Mercy dental trips where he was exposed to the vast, fulfilling, and exciting field of dentistry.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Joyce continued his post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard University Hospital and associated hospitals including Washington Hospital Center, Children’s National Medical Center, and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Joyce practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial surgery but with a particular interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting for dental implants, wisdom teeth, and sedation. He believes in treating patients as if they are family and providing them with care that they can be confident in.
In terms of membership, he is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association.
In Dr. Joyce’s spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog. Dr. Joyce is an avid reader, loves traveling, and sports.
Meet Dr. Malik
Dr. Pareesa Malik
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Pareesa Malik, originally from Pakistan, is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with fellowships from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. She has over a decade of experience in head and neck oncology, trauma, and TMJ disorders. Dr. Malik moved to the U.S. after earning a DDS from Howard University and worked as a general dentist at a correctional facility in Baltimore. She has also served as faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, specializing in surgical training. Her interests include dentoalveolar surgery, trauma, and implant surgery.
Dr. Malik specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases and conditions associated with the mouth and overall dental health. Dentists are trained to carry out such treatment as professional cleaning, restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic procedures, and performing examinations, among many others.
